Understanding and Creating Abstract Art

Bad Dog Arts invites adults 55+ for an exploration and journey into abstract art with local artist Victoria Lyons. Students will be guided through a series of exercises using a variety of media that will be building blocks to explore elements of visual art such as color, composition and texture. Victoria will provide prompts to lead you to express yourself in ways you may not have thought of trying before to evoke imagery and talents you never thought possible. This project will be a way for us to come together in a supportive environment in collaboration with fellow participants. No prior art experience is needed, only a willing spirit to attend a series of eight visual arts classes that will culminate with an exhibit of your wonderful artwork.

All materials and instruction is provided at no cost thanks to the Utah Arts and Museums, Creative Aging program. The only cost is a $20 registration fee. Space is limited to 8 students. The registration link will ask you to tell us a little bit about yourself and why you are interested in attending.
