Fun with Fiber
Monday • 4pm - 6pm • Grades 4-6 • $175 Sept 30 – Nov 18, 2019 (8 Sessions) Textiles and fibers are some of the most taken-for-granted forms of art that impact our daily lives in a multitude of ways. Learn how to transform ordinary materials such as fabric, yarn, twine and wire into sculptural forms and wearable art using a variety of techniques such as weaving, tying, dying, felting, twisting and wrapping. Students will be encouraged to think about fiber design in ways that are both traditional and non-traditional. |
Creative Cardboard
Tuesday • 4pm - 6pm • Grades 2-3 • $175 Oct 1 – Nov 19, 2019 (8 Sessions) One person’s trash is another person’s treasure to create with. The ever presence of cardboard in commercial packaging has it begging for a home outside of the landfill. The unique textures and the durability of cardboard provide artists a vast resource for truly beautiful 2-D and 3-D works of art. Come join us to create awesome stuff with cardboard and foam core! |
Playing with Paper
Wednesday • 3:30pm - 5pm • Grades K-1 • $145 Oct 2 – Nov 20, 2019 (8 Sessions) Often thought of as commonplace, paper can be an incredible material. We will introduce scissor skills. Explore tearing, curling, folding and gluing paper in fun and creative ways. Students will discover concepts of design through projects that demonstrate paper’s versatility such as paper maché, origami and paper sculpture. This class will help kids to begin thinking about their world in new and original ways. |
