UTAH DREAMSCAPE 2015
Midvale Elementary School / Bad Dog Arts • 2015 • Plexiglass Mural Design • 7 Panels 30’ x 7’
Painted plexi cutout shapes of wacky animals, flowers, cacti, dinosaurs, mountains, clouds and rivers. The pieces were then mounted on 7 panels that equal 4’ x 7’ and joined together to equal 28’ long. This project added a wonderful child-like magical theme to the Midvale Elementary School library. Grades 3, 4, and 5 were involved in the project.

Midvale Elementary School / Bad Dog Arts • 2013 • Glazed Tile Mural Design • 25’ x 4’ • 416 6”x 6” Tiles
Bad Dog Arts contracted with Midvale Elementary to work with their entire student body to create permanent artwork that would provide a welcoming presence in the front entry of the school. In August 2012 Directors of Bad Dog Arts attended the new school Grand Opening and received a tour from the architect of the school where he informed attendees how the school design has been inspired by the natural beauty of Utah and our various National Parks throughout the state. Bad Dog Arts directors and staff were very impressed with the new school design and went to work to facilitate a project that has become a legacy piece that the community can take pride in for the life of the school. Artists took their inspiration for the new mural from architectural elements of the design of the building. Geological landforms of Utah became the basis of the overall design to inspire and teach children design techniques that gave them the ability to participate in the entire process.

Ensign Mural "Inspired by Keith Haring"
Ensign Elementary School / Bad Dog Arts • 2012-13 • Glazed Tile Mural Design • 9' x 4' • 144 6"x 6" Tiles
This elementary school wanted a mural that was fun, contemporary, and alive with color. We just couldn't ignore the style of Keith Haring as a starting point to energizing the name of the school. Students at Ensign loved creating this project.

Edison Elementary / Bad Dog Arts • 2010 • Glazed Tile Mural • 3 Sections at 5’x 5’
Edison Elementary contracted with Bad Dog Arts in 2010 to work with 4th and 5th Grade Students to create permanent artwork to enhance one of the school hallways. Students from 4th and 5th grade classes were introduced to working on individual elements of wilderness. community, and city themes. After students were acquainted with the overall themes, they started working on developing their own ideas for the project. They designed their own theme elements, utilizing line, pattern, and color. They were then introduced to recreating their designs onto 6”x 6” tiles, then learned the glazing process. The tiles were fired, and then installed in three sections for the hallway. Students were then able to see the part their design played in the overall mural.

Backman Elementary / Bad Dog Arts • 2009 • Relief Mural Acrylic / MDF Board & Masonite • 3 Sections 3’x 12’
Backman Elementary contracted with Bad Dog Arts in 2009 to work with 75 Sixth Grade Students to create permanent artwork to enhance the second floor classroom hall of the school. Students from 3 sixth grade classrooms were introduced to the contemporary art of artist Frank Stella from New York, who is very well known in art history and throughout the art world. After students were acquainted with Stella’s design concepts, they started working on developing their own ideas for their project. They designed their own shapes, utilizing pattern and color. They were then cut out and assembled together into a beautiful choreography of design, shape, pattern, and color.
