Batik Creative Aging 2026

Batik is a colorful, hands-on adventure in wax and dye. Eight easygoing Saturday sessions taught by Bad Dog Arts Co-Founder and Artistic Director Victoria Lyons, students (ages 55+ and fabulous) will learn the magic of wax-resist dyeing while creating scarves, tote bags, or a decorative wall hanging. Each week builds new skills in pattern, color, and design, with plenty of room for experimentation. No experience needed.

Exploration-based art and sculpture inspired by natural history collections. Step into a world of curiosity and creation in this exploration-based art and sculpture camp inspired by natural history collections. Like the original curiosity cabinets, we will imagine extraordinary objects, from dragon’s blood to unicorn horns. Campers will build their own cabinets and create imaginative oddities to fill them.

Tell Me a Story

Based on different children’s books, students create narratives through illustrations, comics and storytelling. In this magical storytelling art camp inspired by beloved children’s books, young artists will create drawings, paintings and 3-D sculptures to Illustrate favorite characters, build imaginative settings, and explore make-believe adventures. With paint, paper, and plenty of imagination, campers will discover delightful new ways to embellish and even add a new twist to a well-known tale.

In partnership with the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium, campers become ocean explorers and eco-artists, diving into coral reefs, deep seas, and marine habitats. Using recycled materials, mixed media, clay, and glow-in-the-dark techniques, they bring the ocean to life through art while learning how creativity can inspire care for our planet.

Rhythm Makers

Hands-on exploration of rhythm and art where students build instruments and create dynamic rhythms. Make some joyful noise in a hands-on art and rhythm camp where sound and visual expression collide. Explore rhythms from around the world, play percussion, and discover patterns through drawing and painting. Using surprising materials, campers will build shakers, rain sticks, and drums, then create, play, and listen together joyfully every day.

Design an Anime Legend

Introduce students to anime inspired illustration using digital tools. Create the hero or villain of your own anime legend using digital illustration tools. In this camp, artists design original characters, craft expressive faces, and build cinematic scenes while learning visual storytelling. From first sketch to final screen, you will develop an origin story, explore dynamic poses, and bring a bold new world to life. Students are encouraged to bring an iPad loaded with the Procreate app to class each day.

Learn about jewelry design basics and explore more advanced techniques with wire, polymer clay and fused glass pendants. Create it. Fire it. Wear it. This jewelry camp is all about bold ideas and wearable art. Artists will experiment with polymer clay, wire, beads, paper, and fused glass to design pieces that explore color, texture, and personal style. From sculpted charms to statement necklaces and bracelets, campers will think like designers, and leave wearing art saying “I made it myself.”

Dinosaur themed creative exploration and crafts. Travel back to prehistoric times! Young paleontologists will explore the world of dinosaurs through hands-on art, creative building, and imaginative play.
